Information war – terrorists caused the subprime meltdown
U.S. Weighing Criminal Response to Mortgage Crisis (Update1)
S2R1 - Vindication perhaps - maybe these terrorists will have been trained as mortgage lenders in Iran???? 'Terrorists wanting to harm the U.S. ``have a very long attention span, their fatwas and other directives do not have an expiration date,'' he said. ``The only weapon we have is intelligence, and a large part of that is electronic intelligence.'' The article seems like a very strange piece of work. It starts with a fairly down-to-earth talk about mortgage fraud then suddenly changes subject to American surveillance laws for counter terrorism.

Sorry if I’m missing the dry humour; that *was* a Friday night joke wasn’t it bystander?
As the next American election approaches, the Republican party will be desparate to be seen to be doing something about the economic problems in the US. Come to think of it, so will our own government.

Hahah, this article reminds me of George Bush’s speeches straight after 9/11 when he kept mentioning Saddam Hussein’s name in the same sentence as Bin Laden’s…..long before they even claimed their was any link between Iraq & Al Quaida, they were attempting to get people to make an unconscious association between the two, so that the claim wouldn’t seem quite so absurd when they made it.

Yes it was quiet guy, a poor attempt at dry humour. However your final point raises many more questions.
