  • She should have finished this with “oh well, mustn’t grumble.” Honestly, we pay probably about 70% tax in this country with all the stealth taxes – particularly since it seems that every government department now seems to be able to fine us: parking in the street, driving (soon to be really stealthy), late submission of tax returns, garbage collection excess, outrageous utility costs where we suffer so the shareholders don’t, f*ckup pensions schemes, carbon taxes, green taxes (I’m sure there are some), VAT, fuel… and plenty of new ones in the offing.

Sure I consume way more than my parents ever did, but doesn’t that benefit the economy? And if wasn’t for continual assualt on our pay packets, combined with stagnant wage rates, then we would all be increasing our standard of living over time – which is a good thing!

“We need to wake up to the fact that we are not hard done by.” Yes we are you stupid girl.
