Prices jump more than forecast - Report shows inflation remains persistent, with annual rise of 4.3%.
The pace of inflation rose in January, according to a closely watched government report Wednesday that showed price pressures were higher than Wall Street expectations. The Consumer Price Index, the government's key inflation reading, rose 0.4% in the month after a 0.4% jump in December. Economists surveyed by Briefing.com had forecast a 0.3% rise in January.
