ECB to cut rates in April

ECB may follow Fed and BoE in rate cut

"It bothers a lot of ECB council members that they have never met their 2pc inflation target in eight years. Is there any other profession where you can miss your target for eight years and still be credible? They're going to keep rates on hold. If they cut, I'm going to be buying inflation protection," he said.

  • I see Euro/US exchange rates have stayed well below 1.4500. Competitiveness may be driving Trichet’s statements. Think of Boeing vs Airbus both selling planes to the Saudis…

    The Spanish are very keen to cut rates, they have experienced a housing slippage, too.

    Yes, I can see the ECB cutting 0.25 next month.
