UK employment figures don’t tell the full story

UK stocks are in a bear market - it's official

Amid all the gloom, with stock markets tanking around the world again yesterday, UK employment figures were supposed to be a rare ray of sunshine. But as we’ve already seen from America, employment is a lagging indicator – it only starts to turn down after everything else has gone wrong. And with the FTSE 250 now in bear territory, the FTSE 100 could soon follow...

    Many times I have said on this website is that unemployment only happened after the hpc in 1989 as a consequence of it – so when the VI’s always go on about strong employment etc.etc. I take it as total bull***t!
