Consumer Confidence down into Christmas

Consumer confidence slumps

Lender Nationwide said its main consumer confidence index fell by 12 points to 86 last month – the largest single monthly fall recorded since the index was launched in May 2004..."Uncertainty about the effects of the credit crunch together with rising oil and food prices seem to be affecting feelings about jobs and the future economic situation. "With this in mind, it is natural that consumers would think about tightening their belts this Christmas and this is reflected in the weaker spending index," she added. All four of Nationwide's confidence indices fell in November, with the spending index – a measure of consumer's willingness to part with their cash – dropping 14 points to 63...Expectations of house price growth have also fallen

how can a cosumer be confident full of mortage debt, full of credit card debt. With an economy falling & an inept govt which has destroyed the country in 10 years!

…Also, does anyone else find it dodgy that a blatant VI gives out confidence survey data? What better way to sway an IR decision than release data like this while the MPC are at their desks deliberating.

You couldn’t make this stuff up!!!

to be expected really ..but it is dodgy..like everything in the UK at the moment. Labour is just depressing leading us into a depression. Now your sentance for crime may depend on available jail space!!! So how come if i get booked for speeding … the fine is not determined by the % i was over the limit, and the points the same???????
…also i thought that not knowingly breaking the law is no defence …. ‘ sorry officer i did not know the limit was 30mph! ‘.. like these labour idiots who claimnot knowingly taken money from donors which was against the law is any defence!!!!

RANT OVER … BACK TO WORK NOW.
