Student Housing

Thought you'd like to look at this article on the TV this evening. Looks like the VI's had a hand in this one. An investigation into what looks like being tantamount to corruption! Some BTLosers have well and truly lost out in the great Student heaven of Leeds. These stories just keep coming and coming...

  • As you say never never never, these stories keep on coming. I am at a loss to know how anybody can be so stupid as to buy ( I cannot use the word invest ) any item that they have not seen Have they all been totally brainwashed by the property porn barons ? I would have no hesitation in telling the gentleman concerned that he is a prize idiot. Hold on though, there may be another explanation. Here is a section from the article – “My instincts tell me the properties were too expensive and over-valued, but also bluntly that most of the investors have been seduced by a very clever marketing package.”

In a statement Connells told us that all their valuations are carried out by qualified surveyors, and based on market evidence.

They also say volatility in the market price and rentals would have had an impact.

However they confirmed that the three surveyors responsible for valuing at least 50 failed investments no longer worked for the company.

Volatility in the marketplace my ar… This is corruption and theft on the part of the so-called developer and stupidity on the part of the investor. Where do the 3 surveyors now work ? Where has all the money gone
My dear old Dad, sadly no longer with us, had a number of very nice sayings and here is one which I think sums it up.

I believe it comes from Mark Twain – “To succeed in politics, you just need to get all the fools in town on your side” – or words to that effect.
