CAN ANYBODY HELP :We have seen the figures on house price inflation on the home page of the main webpage – is there anywhere were we can get information relating to the type of buyer – FTB/BTL etc in relation to proportion of sales? My rough estimate is since 2000 FTBs have declined from 30% –> 10%, BTLs have increased from 10%—>30% and movers making up the majority of the rest.
Who publishes this information as this will also be fundamental to house prices in future.
I strongly dont believe in supply and demand theories – which i think have been thought up by the EA’s the last few years to justify inflation, a valuation is just based on price of surrounding properties and inflated to tempt the seller and see how much they can squezze out of the buyer, ok it worked in the past -cheap cash – but now i think the drive for the buyers to keep holding the lip of the ballon which the EAs keep blowing into is running out – I need this information to see how deep the crash is going to be and when to return to the property market.
