First time buyers once again featured heavily in the news this week; stamp duty, giving up fags, preparing to spend up to six times salary to buy, fear of fleeing the nest, fear of never being able to buy, 25 year fixed rate mortgages, 11 first time buyers queing up to by ex MOD property..(only eleven?)   • Yes, the estate agents are getting desperate. More desperate tactics will emerge in the months ahead. For example, instead of dropping prices from 180k to 160k, they will sell at 180k but you pay nothing for the first 3 years.
