Not current, but relevant

Housing Bubble or Bunk?

If we go back 2 years to see what the Americans were saying about the state of their own housing market, you'll see that the parrallels are scary. The vested interests were denying a bubble existed and using the same arguments about supply, low interest rates etc. as were hearing now. The independant commentator warning of a slowdown got it spot on. No doubt he was referred to a 'doom monger' too.

    How about every similar bubble situation in history running back a few hundred years.

    Given that there are a large number of variables – even more than a weather system (too many for you to figure out what is going to happen by pure logic), can you tell me why the best predictor is not exactly what happened the last time you put the joystick in that position?
