Are the Russian Oilgarchs moving to Belfast?

£3m bid and still going strong

"Bidding on a Malone property has topped the £3m mark - and it's not sold yet! A 'for sale' board appeared outside the red brick Victorian house in Malone Park just over a week ago with an asking price of £2,250,000. And house-hunters eager to live in what is considered to be one of the most exclusive areas in Northern Ireland, had pushed the price up to £3,300,000 last night." More Northern Ireland property insanity. Only the other day a house in Alliance Avenue, the centre of Belfast's 'Murder Triangle' was on sale for £280,000 - staggering in itself, but it sold for £800,000. Think about that.

  • It’s not Russian oligarchs, it’s Irish property developers looking for somewhere to invest since the RoI market is tanking and the UK seems determined to believe property crashes only happen in other countries. – You can’t blame them, really!

Nope, just debt based inflation like everywhere else.

I can only imagine N Ireland is awash with crime money looking for a place to hide with prices like this.

“the combination of the continued rapid expansion of our economy, vibrant employment growth, exceptional migrant demand together with robust rental inflation and a more stable interest rate environment all indicate that the Irish residential property market is fundamentally very sound”, she said.
Er, did I miss something? What planet is this woman on?!
