Latest information shows CCJs soar by over a third in 2006
County court judgments for individuals increased by 33% in 2006
County Court Judgments: The number of County Court Judgments (CCJs) increased for the second year running. Consumer judgments (excluding DVLA) increased by 33 percent to 843,853 in 2006. Commercial judgments increased by six percent to 178,313 in 2006. However an estimated third of judgments were non-credit related (from DVLA or water companies).

I know a local court officer who deals with reposessions and his workload is currently so high that there is now a 3 month backlog in cases. In 2006 the backlog was about 4 weeks so this piece of information is the thin end of the wedge.

I agree this is the after effects of rates and debt for pre 2005 not 2006. God help us (or them) if rates reach 6%. =:¬(
