Mortgaged to the hilt - beware!

Guardian: Centrica to axe 1,300 jobs

British Gas owner Centrica plans to axe 700 back-office roles at its British Gas Residential Energy unit, closing its Stockley Park headquarters in west London and relocating staff to Staines, Surrey. It is also restructuring its British Gas services team with the loss of 340 jobs and streamlining its group corporate structure, leading to a further 270 job cuts.

Got to feel sorry for the people loosing there jobs, especially as I know most of them by first name. Having just spent the past 8 months trying to sort out my accounts after moving home.

I not sure if the job cuts would be due to our current economic climate or because of British Gas's general incompetance installing there new billing system.

This is what happens with a Lenonist Marksist Government that creates thousands of Jobsworths non jobs in the public sector, increasing red tape causing extra pressure on the Productive Private sector.

Lets hope we see the same thing soon at a large Real estate company and even better the Treasury.....

Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year to 1,300 ex-staff. Still I don't doubt that the directors' will be well remunerated for
cutting costs.

Why do companies love announcing redundancies at this time of year?.
