City not as optimistic about growth as Chancellor

The Independent: Chancellor lauds his efforts - City is less excited

"David Kern, economic adviser to the British Chambers of Commerce, described the forecasts as "unduly ambitious". "We believe the pace of UK growth is set to slow over the next year, because disposable incomes are being squeezed, global prospects are worsening, while sterling and interest rates have risen and could go up further," he said."

Guess what's guilty for "disposable incomes being squeezed"? Runaway hous price inflation we lose and the government gains. Did I mention that the house price boom has been one giant tax wheeze?

Says it all really. My analogy still stands - the central european dictator receiving standing ovations behind locked gates while the people are shouting for his removal on the streets.

Crash Gordon for Prime Minister? You must be kidding.
