And the political reaction?

A jovial and and condescending dismisssal just as seen on Starkey's Last Word in October by Christopher Moran; a member of the house of lords and owner of Crosby House situated right next to The Thames.

Don't expect any MPs to react to this either - they know better than to crap on their own well-feathered beds.

As I was reading the article I couldn't help but starting to compare affordable housing with a black hole...
All affordable housing, expensive as it is to provide, will, in time, be sold to tenants at a fraction of the market value. This will, as it has in the past, provide equity "rich" people, ready to get into debt through remorgaging inflating the bubble.

The best way in which the Government could intervene is to put up taxes on 2nd 3rd etc...properties, I know I' repeating myself, so that house prices do come down to a level where every adult in employment can afford to get on the ladder.

As for the more needy members of Society, they should be provided with BASIC accomodation, and help training and support to dig themselves out of stagnation.
