House prices up, house prices cooling - who's telling the truth ?

The Times Online: Tills ring on as home loans cool

RISING interest rates have yet to put a dent in high street spending but may have begun to cool the housing market, a set of reports indicated yesterday.

Considering how easy it is to get credit... I'm not supprised.

Surely the easier the access to credit, the less of an effect the base interest rate has on inflation on the high street.
