Telegraph News: Inflation projections raised

The Bank of England expects inflation to rise this year by more than initially expected, raising expectations of another interest rate hike this year.

BBC news has just had a piece on why interest rates are likely to rise further, and made the direct link to 'a softening of the housing market'. They pretty much said that house prices are more likely to go down for a while.

Personally I think this will be enough to knock the wind out of property developers who have all their wealth tied up in property, and that in turn could affect the BTL market.

The change in sentiment has started and is unstoppable.

logic will prevail. What goes up does come down. Inflation is running way above 3% even now, and over time even manipulated figures will show that. What else can the ONS and BOE do? They have to try and keep the wheels turning, that is their job. The masses do depend on it, but in the end the wheels are going to come of and we will crash.
