Woolwich brand to disappear along with 1,200 jobs

SKY News: Barclays Cuts 1,200 Jobs

Barclays has said it will axe 1,203 jobs within two years as part of a shake-up of its UK retail business. It is to close call centres and offices in Bexleyheath in Kent, Clacton in Essex and Dudley in the West Midlands.

Well dearies, please see my previous comments under "Millions Refused Credit." Apparently not enough of them are refused. And axing jobs isn't all Barclay's are up to in order to compensate for their easy financial friendships with those seeking excessive credit. Many of those are apparently crumbling and Barclay's bottomline with it. Guess which Barclay's Bank customers will be picking up the pieces on these ill-conceived credit alliances? Not those who didn't save a nut for winter. Oh No, it will be those of us who did without conveniences in order to build signficant savings accounts that accrue pitiful interest. Those of us who pay our credit card bills in full and on time. Now our credit interest rates are soaring as well, and customer service can go into the can with the rest as personnel are dismissed to preserve matters for the stockholders. I called their "Customer Service" line today to discuss the fact that everyone, [including the long term reliable customer], is being penalized for those who default on credit arrangements with Barclay's. I was met with cold hostility and the invitation to address my concerns to their Managing Director. And so I shall.
