A BIG article but full of very interesting stuff... with the US housing market in the midst of full-blown influenza, why hasn't the UK market started to catch cold yet? I just don't get it...

One of the major risks now facing UK primary city property values is the level of foreign ownership.

US money has been pouring into London and it has recently been reported that foreign money now owns 40% of the capital.

With so much US property now stagnant in many parts and falling in others, we could find the overseas speculators who helped drive the market either pulling the plug to protect their capital, or being forced out of the market by increasing mortgage maintanance and low rental yields.

This in my opinion, will be the catalyst for the fall of the UK property market, back in line with the long term trend - which will come sooner or later.
