“Prices increased by 0.6 percent in June from the prior month, taking the average house price to 165,500 pounds. The figures are not adjusted to account for seasonal variations in the market.”
Amazing isn’t it – to think they went to all the trouble to do a survey and the only good news they can find is that the property market generally picks up in the spring. Of course seasonally adjusted prices are probably falling, but I guess they thought they could ignore that.
With VI news this desperate, it can’t be long before they run out of things to spin. And then what …?

Seems like they were forced to report out on something.
So while the rest of the office staff were out registering their BTL’s for sale with the Real Estate agents they must of had their work experience kid on the job. He merely must of multiplied the mean of the median house price gains over the odd months in 2006, then divided that figure by the sum of months starting with the letter “J” that increased by over 3% in 2005 whilst deriving the square root of the average number of windows in a 3 bed semi. Add all the figures together and hey presto work experience boy came up with a figure that supports the claim that “House prices rose at their sharpest annual rate in 1-1/2 years in June”. Right, lovely got out of that one then, dont you just love statistics.
Was this article even worth publishing…..?

Lets stop with the Blah Blah commentary – you are putting your spin on top of someone else’s – this site looses some credibility.
inbreda says:
The point with the blah blah is that they report the same things every time. It’s the desperation of the scrabble for the supporting statistics which changes with time.

Blahblaaah, you have a point. I prefer rhubarb.
Geed says:
Oh dear. Blahblaah has blown a funny fuse!
Perhaps he/she is one of the Hometrack staff that are desperately trying to sell off their BTL’s. I would be a bit grumpy too if I was in that situation.
