Clearly the future of employment in UK lies within BTL Agencies and Estate Agents. When we're a Nation of BTL Agencies and Estate Agents Crash Gordon's economic miracle will be complete.

Some time ago I saw it estimated that during the last economic downturn in the early 90's, some 200,000 nationals of other countries, mostly based in London, left our shores for richer pickings elsewhere.

This despite the fact that there was much less temporary migration then than there is today.

The recent upturn in unemployment must be making the UK less attractive - particularly for nationals of other EU countries.

I'm not sure that it has happened yet, but if unemployment continues to rise, we may well see a significant exodus of the 'Polish plumbers'.

That might well scupper any dreams of higher rents and lower voids in the BTL sector...
