Nationwide year on year percentage change

When we look at the economics of the boom in house prices and the predicted bust we look at the cycles. Cycles are part of economics and it’s interesting to look at this graph as it shows that we are nearing the end of this current cycle.

The last crash shows a quicker rise to higher levels then a steep crash. This cycle shows a longer cycle (almost double) and not quite as high as the last cycle but could this just mean that the fall will not happen as fast but be deeper and last for longer?
