Tonyb69
Anyone else disappointed at the size of the GB team at last nights opening ceremony? I’m sure this is probably off the mark, but does anyone else think that the high cost of living in the UK has lead to a falling number of people entering sports. Unless you are very talented and actually managed to get spotted it must be very difficult to afford a reasonable standard of living and keep up with the dedication/money required. Was it a report on the BBC that said we only had 1 boxer entered this year? How many other sports do we have an under strength team? My partner is from NZ and her sister lives with us at the moment, had to put up with their team looking bigger than ours with a population 92% smaller. Shame the only thing we lead the world in at the moment is boom and bust cycles (and of course we are the WORLD CHAMPIONS in rugby. Well done boys, shame about the All Blacks).
