Soo... what's the deal with Citi today?

bk ahead for the US biggest bank ? it prolly helps to need a bail out early while the fed had funds

ford down 10%

gm down 22%

the bears are out in force today.

... mind you, I bet we will bounce tomorrow or Friday by a similar amount.

Citi have been rumoured to be in trouble for well almost a year, but nothing substantial on them appeared until a month ago when it was leaked that the US government had asked Citi to merge with Morgan as Citi was at risk. Since then its been on a one way road down, and basically Citi have been trying to convert as much as it can into assets to balance its books. Its seen as the main reason for the sudden massive increase in the amount that Citi are firing.

HSBC were also talked of being merged with them, but worlds number 1 bank merging with number 2 would just be a recipe for disaster.
