Home_To_Roost
Iconic Brookside Close rotting away after years of neglecthttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...rs-neglect.html Brookside Close is a state of decay and disrepair after years of neglect. The iconic set of the Channel 4 soap is now barely recognisable after standing empty since the show finished in 2003. The once pristine cul-de-sac, which was the scene of significant television moments including the first pre-watershed lesbian kiss, is now rotting and overgrown with weeds. In 2005 developers swooped in to buy the street of real homes in Croxteth, Liverpool. All 13 of the houses were made over and put up for sale for up to £300,000, but buyers failed to meet the price. An auction firm has now stepped in with plans to sell the close for £2 million. £300,000?! NONE of those houses are worth half of that amount! Look how tiny they are! Yet more proof of how deluded Britain has become over property
'Bart'
£300,000?! NONE of those houses are worth half of that amount! Look how tiny they are! Yet more proof of how deluded Britain has become over property They were probably hoping that some "Brookies" with more money than sense would pay to live in the actual close where their favourite program was set. It might be a giggle to be able to say that you live on Brookside Close, but given the murders, rapes, adultery and armed sieges that went on there over the years, your house insurance would probably skyrocket. Sums up how sad and F**ked up the UK is --- a country obsessed with the "price" of property - only to find it is valueless..........
keef
The roadsign marking the famous street has long fallen away from its posts ... Errr yeah, with a little help from some friends I'd dare to wager. And therein lies a part of the problem. I hope that's not too cryptic

hilltop
Empty for Five years!? Have the owners paid Council Tax, or is that something only 'little people' have to worry about? And the loss of interest! And the greed! Bankruptcy is too easy for such idiots. Make them live there.
