Homes Under The Hammer....

Before the auction local EA also said they would get between 550-600 rent for it. Aftre just 6 weeks of work - they didn't do much - the same EA says they will get between 600-959 for it ?!

Apparently they are getting £700 for it and there was a queue of people begging them to rent it for that much...

I wouldn't want to rent that house for £700 a month. It was a bog standard townhouse with the only bathroom on the ground floor.

Maybe they were talking themselves up to sound like successful business people? Just after the auction the guy was boasting of 'nearly a 10% yield'. Martin's voiceover indicated a lower 9% yield after the renovation if they were getting £700 a month.

The EA's rental valuations of £600-650 were more realistic, imo (c. 8% yield)

At least the other two developers featured decided to live in the respective properties. And a jolly nice job they did of them too. :)

Anyone watch this today ?!

Had a bird on with her dad from 2006 :o

Amazing bubbletastic chat. Easy to borrow money - so cheap - would recommend ANYONE to do the same. Basically was planning to do up a few houses to take the 'profits' to allow his daughter to have enough for a deposit of her own. Didn't actually have any money so remortgaged his own house to do it...

Comes the end of the show. Had done some work but not a lot - and this took over 8 months. Had a few nice wee shots of the daughter painting some rails on the stairs. I did think she looked quite different. Then we have the local EA's in for the ubiquitous over-valuation.

MARCH 2010. :o

WTF ?!

Of course they were delighted with the 50k profit that had been made. Not even a mention of the 4 years that just seemed to disappear. Total sham of a programme.

 4 years!

It is shocking. Fine - there is a brief wee snap along the bottom of the screen. However no chat - no discussion - no explanation. And then they go on to talk about the 'profit' they have made ?! They must be sailing close to the wind with this show.

Only the unemployed and economically inactive watch it, so not much harm done.. oh and us of course!

I think its the funniest show on.

Great show today. Unbelievably arrogant Mancunian 'pwoperdee developer" (complete with designer jeans and twattish Gucci specs) buys a terraced house in Chorley last summer for £85,000, buying it for his 17 year old daughter "so she can start to build up her own property portfolio."

Then decides instead to put it back on the market for £105,000 without doing anything to it, saying he bought it so cheaply that there is enough profit on it just to flip it. Properties on that street were going for 30-40k just five years ago.

The two estate agents value it at £90-95k max, but the hubris of the guy is so great he is so adamant that he will easily get the 105k he deserves.

It's still on the market, now reduced to £85k, despite having now had some refurbishment.

I just love seeing these guys getting pwned.

if that was number 42:

http://www.nethouseprices.com/index.php?con=sold_prices_street_detail&street=HARRISON+ROAD&locality=CHORLEY&town=CHORLEY&cCode=EW&year=All&house_style=All&house_age=All&search_radius=&outcode=PR7&incode=3HP

it sold may 2007 for 85k

unsold since then, currently smallish semis are asking 95k there, so in real terms this guy has probably taken a big bath

however he is probably too stoooooopid to yunderstand why he is now poor

Why are they doing re-runs from so recently ? Have all the ones they have done in the last year been so bad that they can't [Dont want to] put them out all at once....
