If I recall, we numbered over a thousand on the day the Halifax announced the first of the big drops back in April. I heard the news in a taxi back from LHR after a well-deserved holiday and chuckled all the way home (quietly though, as the taxi driver was not best pleased). In HPC terms a major part of that is down to this site in that it pulls together a lot of different data sources, including anecdotals, and analyses them without VI spin. Given the number of times this site is name-checked in the press (and on TV and radio, and sometimes by people other than FP!) I really don't think I'm overstating that.
