Saving For a Space Ship
http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/busi...er+cent/2384367 Vid & article New figures released exclusively to Channel 4 News show just how severely some towns are suffering from the housing market slump. The place worst affected appears to be Tamworth in the west midlands. New figures from the credit agency Experian show that the number of house sales this spring had dropped a staggering 52.9 per cent from the same period in 2006. As part of the Generation Next season Bridgid Nzekwu has been to Tamworth with journalism graduate Anila Khanna as her producer to see how businesses in the housing industry are struggling to survive. REP013
30% drop in sales in my area. Looking at RM for min of 4 beds > £400k only houses with a minimum of 10% drop in price are selling, none so far in August (early days I know).

jonewer
On the plus side sales in Aldershit are still strong..... They must be selling them to blind deaf people with no sense of smell.
PropertyBear
The title is wrong right? It's volume that has dropped 53%?
Saving For a Space Ship
The title is wrong right? It's volume that has dropped 53%? Yes, I've corrected the title ( it would not let me do this initially) Re-watch : http://www.channel4.com/news/articles/busi...er+cent/2384367
Smell the Fear
Sorry, I must be in the wrong country. I thought Tamworth was where they held the country music festival. They like their Rodeo riding up there as well! Like many places in Australia (and NZ, USA, Canada), it is named after the original UK town. notthereyet
On in a minute Yes as it said a lot of towns and cities are well down on sale volumes.I don't think we needed to be told that. I cannot see anything improving for a long while yet?
The Masked Tulip
Always got the impression that Tamworth was a Midlands industrial place but it looked quite a nice place to live. They have that silly accent though don't they - the one that Lenry Henry mimics as I think he is from there?
