International Solicitor?

Recommended Posts

Cut it short as I waffled on for a massive post...

but is there such thing as an international solicitor?,

My dad wasnts to sell me some land at a rock bottom price (I know about the connected parties CGT anti avoidance rules) in Hong Kong, and thus wants me to be in Hong Kong in October, I don't fancy a 10,000km flight to sign a document and be back again since HK doesn't float me boat as a holiday location as I never buy anything anyway other than tools, and I have seen the patch of land too so I'm not buying without seeing.

Is there such thing as an international solicitor who can deal with this I can find somewhere in the UK? , a flight out will cost £500 minimum and more importantly a great deal of my time I was planning on using that time (and money) on doing something else.

Anyhelp please?.

Thanks

I don't know about the conveyancing system in HK but I would be very surprised if you couldn't get someone locally to sign for you under a Power of Attorney. You need to chat to whoever will be the doing the legals for this transfer in HK and they should be able to help.
