Total Borrowings Of Depository Institutions From The Federal Reserve

Recommended Posts

Its probably as a result of the Feds new swaps, TAF? and something else. Some people have been trying to make it out to be something it isn't, since its really just a result of the way they count the transaction.

Is it inflationary? No, because fed will keep hold of a mortgage security in exchange for treasuries of equal or less face value. Maybe it could stave of deflation, but that depends on the psychology of the bank, whether they want to take on risk.
