Selling A House To The Local Council?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

My old dear has moved in with my sister due to ill health. She has an ex-LA house, no mortgage, and given the current climate, selling on the open market could take a while....

Given that, would it be too cheeky to approach the local council & ask them if THEY would purchase it, to increase their housing stock etc etc. They still own about half a dozen houses on the same street (including the one next door). This is all happening in Scotland (Glasgow area) FWIW.
