Tony Parsons In The Daily Mirror

It was the other day, but no-one else seems to have spotted it.

We are told that house prices are about to fall by 30 per cent.

I hope they fall even more.

Too many people - including yours truly - have too long regarded an Englishman's home as his nest-egg.

House prices in this country are insane.

The more they fall, the better chance young couples have of getting on the property ladder.

I don't know how any manage it at the moment.

Don't the working class youngsters of today deserve to own their own home?

Ultimately, falling houses prices are good news for everyone apart from the hair gel brigade - estate agents.

Haven't things changed in a year?

We must be getting near the point where falling house prices will be a vote-winner for Labour!

It'd be good to see the same sort of copy in the 'SUN SAYS' column. Then the sentiment pendulum will have truly swung our way...

The sheeple should be grateful that something is actually falling in price. When the price of your biggest ever purchase is rising at 10%+ a year, a lot of people are getting a lot poorer, even if they don't realise.

I was watching Back to the Future next week and was struck by this thought :

If Amser Rothschild had, by some quirk of fate, gotten into the cocaine business instead would this site be called www.crackhousepricecrash.co.uk?
