The Sun - House prices still slumping

"House prices have declined by 6.1 per cent over the past year. Nonetheless, the average UK price remains slightly higher than two years' ago and is appreciably stronger than three or four years ago."
“A strong labour market, low interest rates and a shortage of new houses underpin housing valuations."

HBOS really are in the sh*t if this guys the smartest in the room.

No wonder their shareholders didn't go for the rights issue if their chief economist still thinks the labour market is strong.

HBOS may well have to fire his ass next.

What a towering intellect. However, I'm smarter by far. Does he not know that house prices are still considerably higher than they were a hundred years ago.

It's all about timing.

I bet Hadrian wishes he had've kept his BTL Portfolio.

He had to MEW to build his wall and eventually had to sell.

Bet he is well annoyed as house prices are 'substantially higher' than they were in AD 122.

Yet more spin from the king of property spin, the Halifart. You might as well say "although house prices are going to drop they will still be higher than they were in 1787. Useless, spin-doctored, defensive rubbish masquerading as wisdom. Par for the Halifax course.

I blame Benjamin Disraeli for this current mess!

To be fair he was left dealing with the mess left to him by Ethelred the Unready.
