Leeds- Looking To Rent 2 Bed Flat- Tips?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Looking to move to Leeds with the OH to be nearer our friends, and hopefully live a slightly cheaper life than in the Bristol area at present.

We are looking at 2 bed flats, but don't know the city particularly well yet, so just looking for advice on:

-What to expect to pay for something decent

-How much can I haggle on rent?

-Which areas to look at?

Thanks

Have a good look around before committing, you should then have a good idea of how much choice there is. The more limited the choice of flats to rent the less likely landlords are to consider offers.

Your personal circumstances/status will also influence how much you may be able to haggle on the rent, if at all. Make sure the landlord or his /her agent is aware of what you do for a living, how long you have been employed, and your reason for moving. Where landlords can work out that you are likely to be reliable long term tenants they are more likely to look favorably at offers.
