You've Got What You've Hoped And Prayed For

Recommended Posts

You've hoped and prayed for HPC for many years now.

Now that it's finally happening, do you feel a sense of anti-climax? Did you think HPC was going to make you feel better than currently do?

Is it a bit like chasing that girl/boy you fancy - once she/he succumbs, well it's just a bit dull. Is living for the chase the exciting part?

Nope. This is just the start of a very interesting chapter of history.

Agree. Now is an era of change - after stagnation and entrenchment for a decade.

Nope, I'm loving it. Every. Single. Day.

My assets are in safety (I think!) and my employment is secure enough and paying well. I've read the match programme cover to cover, I'm sitting in a seat by the halfway-line, a cold beer and hot meat-pie in my hands and the match is only minutes old.

What's not to like?

[edit; Oh, and for once, Mrs. Paddles is shouting for the same team as me!]

Anti climax, fuk no it's terrifying even with my saved cash, turns out the girl was not dull but a flaming psycho.

I certainly haven't got what I want.

I want a house that I can bring my family up in.

I want to be surrounded by people who have worked hard for what they have and therefore have a value system based on reality. NOT reality TV

It's a huge beast and its taking ages to turn.

The longer it takes, the more I enjoy it.

The madness of the last 10 years has turned me into an UBERSHADENFREUD

I will laugh at every single repossession that I think was deserved.

The longer it takes to return to normality

The longer

and louder

my manic laughter

Echo's round my humble home.

I'm not sure what you do with the girls that 'succumb' to you, but personally I don't find that part dull. Surely there is nothing worse in life than chasing something and not getting it?

Aw mate, they're the best kind. I speak from experience here.

Ok, she stalked me for months after we split up but it was worth it.

If I am forced to go along with the Girl Chase metaphor, At this point I feel like the teenager who just got his first tops and fingers.

When I'm 75 pumped full of Viagra, and wondering If my heart will outlast the gravy strokes...... then I'll start to find it all a bit boring

A HPC is great for those who have an aim to buy a house at some point in time....many are happy to rent forever, nothing wrong with that...buying a house at whatever price is a commitment and can tie you down, you need to decide what you want out of life...a mortgaged home is not for everyone. ;)

I do wonder how many STR's that have been crowing over falls in house prices will end up burning through their funds whilst on the dole queue <_<

I think we might be witnessing a one in 300 year event - possibly bigger IMO even than its precursor in the thirties. No matter how deadly - it's thrilling.

Did I ever mention that I like the quiet life?

Ah well, too late now.

Nope. But I don't feel that happy either. Why? Well, houses are still insanely overpriced in this country. So have I got what I wanted? Nope, not yet, I'm afraid. Still, I'll probably feel happier in 6 months time. And even more so in 12 months time. And then... Well, you get the idea.

This HPC has been a long time coming. It can't hit the bottom soon enough for me. But realistically I know that's still years away. Fortunately, I'm patient - and on a cheap rent. :)

...nobody hoped or prayed for anything....it was the futile blind leading the blind and bluffing one another which was amazing...!.....no ! the forecasts and projections on this forum foresaw what we are starting to live....and even now Brown the clown is in denial ..... <_<

Anti-climax? I'm living a couple of doors up from a house (very similar to that which I rent) which has just had it's asking price reduced by more than I've paid in rent this Millenium and is still, like the two next to it, "For Sale"! It's like Xmas, accept the presents are regular, and to the value of Porsche 911s.

Quite frankly, this is sodding bliss!

problem solved, ;)

edit* you cannot get "dole" if you have over a certain level of savings in bank accounts etc.......hence my "solution" applies to those in fear of job losses *wink wink... ;)
