July 15 (Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks fell to the lowest since 2005, led by Royal Bank of Scotland Plc and Barclays Plc as bank shares tumbled to a 10-year low on concern credit- market losses will spread.

RBS shares lost more than 10 percent, sending the FTSE 350 Banks Index to the lowest since October 1998.

RBS, Britain's second-largest bank, dropped 7.1 percent to 167.3 pence, falling for a fourth day. Barclays, the U.K.'s second-biggest bank, retreated 3.4 percent to 260.5 pence.
