Guest Skint Academic
Tank FTSE Tank! Watch FTSE Tank! They are constantly redrawing the graph on Yahoo. It's not the dithering around up and downey type slide either. It's more like a freefall. What's Gordon said now? Or is this the big one? waitingscot
Royal Bank of Scotland looks especially badly hit. Can they go much lower? Are they in danger? I have all my savings with RBS. Should I pull out now? http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/fds/hi/...201/default.stm I think this needs its own thread, but I can't start threads. The Masked Tulip
There was a bloke on the news last night who said that everytime the Fed intervenes in the US the markets rally the following day but then for the week after the first 24 hours it tanks. I think we are going to be down in the 4,800s pretty soon. There is a lot of bank reporting in the US coming this week.

Monkey
looks like its buy on any news whatsoever, sell when theres nothing.Better make up some news. I'D imagine its to do with what happened in the US yesterday and over the weekend with Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Indy Mac, on CBS news one of the ecconomists blokes said "todays was a very good day for the Dow Jones, it could have been alot worse" thats bearing in mind if fell 45points yesterday, bellow the 11000 mark its getting alot worse than all the ecconomists could have ever thought, and the dooms moungers, this is now scary

redgenieuk
It was last at 5000 mid '05. Last at 4000 in '03. @3000 in '95 @2000 in '91 Just how bad can things get. I can't see below 4000 personally, but who knows. We are not even in a resession yet. I think all bets are off when the resession is full steam on, but IR's STILL NEED TO GO UP! Ted
The thing to watch for is when the American markets open. If they take the lead of the World markets and drop as well, further pressure will be put on the FTSE. Don't like the talk above on RBS........... Is it in trouble?
