Ok, I'm fed up with the rubbish that ARLA, Paragon et al spout abouts rents shooting up. I'm sure they are huge local differences, but overall the rises are nothing like what is being reported.

What ARLA & Paragon are spouting is that the "rents" that BTLers aspire to in order to re-mortgage are rocketing.

Thanks to the credit crunch, their "investment" now needs to generate 130% of the required mortgage [when last year they needed only 100% rent-to-loan cover] so hey presto! - BTL Mortgage providers Paragon discover that rents as going up by 30% YOY
