Fantastic quote halfway through the article

But Angela Knight, head of the British Bankers' Association sought to allay fears that Britain's problems were as bad as those of the US.

'In America, they have lent money to people with no proof of income to buy five-bedroom houses,' she said. 'That has not happened in Britain.'

What a deluded woman. She probably means, "I've got a five-bedroom house and of course you can't have one of those unless you're wealthy! MY house won't lose value, oh no! Therefore Britain is much better placed."

So glad someone else thought this was hilarious. Angela - Miss Moneypenny in her original incarnation - is wheeled out at any opportunity to speak on behalf of all banks and the UK financial world as far as I can see - the heart of the City is still very bowler hat english and thinks it can palm off grubby maters like talking to the press to "a female" of middle age - ie a Mumsy. "Mumsy - just tell them some lies and they will go away."

Trouble is she is rubbish at the job, almost Comical Angie....!
