More Shared Ownership Madness

Recommended Posts

Read it and weep.

Approx. Mortgage (I/O only @ 7%): £1,167

Rent pcm: £298.16

Service pcm: £120.70

Total: £1,585.86

Now, let's look at their mission statement:

Established in 1990, Landmark Housing Association was formerly known as London Teachers Housing Association. We provide home ownership opportunities for people who could not otherwise buy their own home. Landmark has around 800 homes in management, the majority of which are shared-ownership. The rest are in its small portfolio of rented accommodation.

"

The Housing Corporation

Landmark is partly funded by the Government through the Housing Corporation which also monitors our performance"

Probably one of the initiatives set up in 2004 handles this, they used to be a teachers society, Ken Livingstone, possibility of losing funding, joined a bigger group as new applicants being denied.

Rode the New Labour Gordon Brown Quango gravy train till the very last stop.

not sure where people with shared ownership are at? i guess better cushioned than the self-certs or 100+%ers.

i think they have at least figured out that they cannot afford the full price (as it was back in 06/07) and been at least semi-responsible by doing shared.

better off if they didn't bother though, since most will be 90% drop new build rabbit hutches.

The first 5 years must have been easy - just sitting around while the crash did their job for them!
