I still think a lot of people on this site don't get this crash. It was planned. Just like the boom. It was no "accident".

We may think we're clever seeing this coming, but we're not half as clever as the bankers who stole the worlds wealth in the process.

Why do none of the meedja put this issue into context;

A predicted 40% fall in prices should be counter balanced by reporting of the previous 300% RISE.

The real story is "house prices set to fall significantly so normal people on normal wages can buy them once again".

Think about the people who have the MOST to lose in this crash/ apocalypse.

They are the aspirational London 30 somethings with good jobs and greedy materialistic (usually dyed blonde) wives who have been part of a 3yr cycle of moving up the ladder, taking out more and more equity from their homes to fund show-off trips to the Maldives and Babington House......and guess what - you can put most of the senior eschelons of the champagnes socialists into that category - namely:

-BBC

-Media/ Journalists

-Advertising

-"Marketing"

-Arts

You also find these people are the most susceptible to their own messages - so TV folk will listen unquestioningly to Property Porn, for eg.

THIS IS WHY WE GET THE OUTRAGEOUS SLOPAGANDA ACROSS THE WHOLE NEWS SPECTRUM.......THEY ARE THE MOST STUfFED!!

The ones playing athe higher level were of course our friends the *ankers...but that is for another thread.

...the politics of envy!

Perhaps but not always.

I'm comfortably off (probably more so than many of these types). I'm happy with my life (again, probably etc.......). I just don't, on he whole, like these types. And I spent 3 years working in the meeja in London so this is based on more than just distant loathing of people I've never met. Cant stand City finance types either.*

*Actually, I'm a curmudgeonly old git and dont like many types ;-)

The 10pm BBC Slopoganda broadcast managed to find space in their headlines for a woman who has won the right not to marry gay couples

Is that like a threesome or something?

the seriously important news that Carla Bruni has recorded a pop song

Who?

They will drop at least 50%

At the very least.....

Unfortunately, by the end of this crisis, I suspect that house prices will be the least of our worries

Yes i agree the fall will be ovr 50% but half will come off the asking price and the othe half will come as the currency devalues so that the sheeple fell they are still rich.

We are being conned over interest rates as most people spurt out the goverment figure of 2-3% but apart from DVD players just about everything is going up.

For ten years you could buy a bran new ford fiesta 18D for 7.5k and then the $USD goes down against the pound and low and behold the price of a new fiesta goes up to 8.5k so work that one out.

I know, I just paid 300,000 for a new build bungalow in the north east. If they go down 50% I'll lose at least two grand.

:lol::lol::lol:

Reminds me of when a hydrogen bomb fell on Slough. It did 18 quids worth of damage....

Unless you were lucky enough to own a home before and sold to rent. How you guys managed to convice the wife the end was nigh and sell your home is an interresting question.

I just told her straight, "We are selling and renting love, Don`t ask any stupid questions and where`s me facking dinner?"

Back in the real world, I married a sensible woman and we had a chat, we both agreed and STR August 2007. :D

STRing doesn't apply to me. But a word of advice is never convince the wife into doing anything. just tell her

what's happening while she's knee deep in ironing. hope this helps

I threatened to divorce her if we didn't sell and house prices crashed.

I meant it.

She believed me.

We completed on the 20th December 2007

She now thinks I am an economic genius of course.....:)

Which, of course, I am not.

I am just like you guys. A malcontend contrarian who has always had difficulty doing as he was told and following the crowd. As soon as every Tom Dick and Harry started to think he was a budding property tycoon, I figured it was time to jump ship.

Good for you mate. My wife was more supportive but its nice to be proved right. Let the tournament begin. Hahahha!!
