What Happens When You Go Bankrupt?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what exactly happens? Heard you can't have a bank account, debit card etc. How do you get paid from your job then? Also do they take your cars? What if these are needed for work. How long does it last after you are discharged from it how does your credit rating stand? Does your name always have to be published in the Telegraph.

I don't know about the Telegraph angle, but given the times we're in, I don't think the list (if there is one) will be getting shorter

edit - from article:

Publication

Once the bankruptcy order has been made it will be published in The London Gazette. This is an official list of legal notices. It will also be advertised in a local or national newspaper. In addition the official receiver will give written notice of the order to a number of organisations, such as the local authorities, utility suppliers and courts.
