That's a good £100k over what I'd have guessed. But then I'd have been going on the basis that Porthleven is rough as rats and all the nice houses are holiday cottages - which this one ain't!

Porthleven's nice but most of the houses are tiny, I'd have said £100k less for Helston. Helston is fine (if steep!) and has some absolute mansions even in the heart of town, Redruth has the same and there must have been some serious money there a hundred years ago.

Dark, no parking, a postage stamp courtyard.....as a business....could conceivably turn over £18000 gross.....that would be a miserable 5% yield on £400,000....let alone £600,000....holiday landlord offloading?

And now seemingly removed from the market... odd... not even up for 4 days... Maybe they had someone just laugh at them and were offended enough to take it off again...

After kite flying at £495,000 reality is starting to bite.......latest price £395,000.....can't think why Savills chose not to show an exterior shot?!

I saw that. Think it was mentioned on here at original price.

Like I've said before it is the Marazion factor. I think the place is a stinky, depressing dump but those with properties to sell seem to think it is the new St Ives. For example:

Like you I didn't realise there was a Marazion "factor". I have the odd pint there as a turn around from walking or cycling in along the front but there's nothing to the place; it's not somewhere I would consider living.

I saw that property this morning and laughed at the price, it's a charming house but unfortunately it's blighted by the road. I suspect that - like the methodist chapel down the road - after a brief period of kite flying it will start to tumble........they might struggle to recoup the £415,000 paid in 2008.....

So they paid £415k at the peak of the market, yet expect to make a 25% profit after prices have edged down for the last 5 years. Seems reasonable...

This one in Zennor at £575,000 has languished on the market for several months.......surprised if anyone wanting to move to this area would pay anything close to £525,000 to live directly on the B3306, and have their peace and quiet ruined by the noise of constant Summer traffic.........
