Bellway Says Housing Gloom Will Last Into 2009

A recovery in the housing market could take until the second half of next year to come through, Bellway, the UK's fourth-biggest housebuilder, said today.

The company, which described the current housing market conditions as "tough", confirmed that the total number of homes it will sell this year would fall for the first time in many years as nerves among potential buyers have led to a 9 per cent drop in reservations.
