gfromls
Jp morgan are now buying 39% of BS for $10 per share. Jp morgan will foot the bill for the first $1 billion of BS write downs, the FED covering the next $29 billion.
stormymonday_2011
Suggests it is not all going as smoothly as JPM hoped. It seems Lewis and the other shareholders are probably not going to simply roll over and die. In particular the former Bear Stearns staff who hold 30% of the company shares could make the rubber stamping of the takeover difficult. Worse Congress is taking an interest in the legality of the Feds role in JPM's seizure of BSC. There could also be questions as to how far the Fed can underwrite any higher bid. Interesting times. laurejon
I wonder how much he is worth now. Not sure his latest venture was property development in Bulgaria. He reminds me of one of those guys in the films who has a run of luck in a casino wining millions of pounds, then believes he has the magic touch and goes on to lose the lot. There must be a women in the background with a Mink Stole, and Diamonds the size of Lorry wheel nuts hanging off her neck :-) Edited March 24, 2008 by laurejon
