I only caught part of the interview with Jonathan Clark, head of claims at the FSA's Compensation Scheme, but I was appalled at his utter complacency as to how people could find out which banks and building societies counted as 1 or more institutions. He said that it was impossible for the FSA to keep tabs on these organisations and that people should check for themselves!! For heaven's sake - speak to the average person in a building society or bank these days - and they have no idea whether or not they are part of a connected institution!

It should be a priority for the FSA to have this information easily accessible to the general public. This level of complacency is deeply worrying!

Agree absolutely. It's left up to Martin Lewis the moneysavingexpert to make this info available on his site.

FSA- Financial Services AUTHORITY?

they have all the power, but no respect for the privileges they are given.

They are a disgrace, from the top down.
