Power Prices To Rise Again

Recommended Posts

BBC News 24 were just talking about a company - think it was Scottish Power - who are announcing another 10% hike in prices. Only caught the end of it so not sure of the details.

I was musing about this today

As I understand it CPI etc are based on a basket of goods, but assuming I only have a fixed amount of money to spend when energy and food prices go up the % of them in my basket will be bigger and therefore the inflation rate should be bigger??

Or something??

They are not rising again, when everyone else rose their prices Scottish and southern said they would wait until the worst of the winter past before passing on the rises.

15% is still far lower than some of the other companies out there.
