Property Price Hikes, Is Sally To Blame?

Recommended Posts

Many people are reducing the price of their houses because valuers (sorry, Sally who works in the acrylic nail bar in town on a Sunday, wears too much foundation and wreaks of stale perfume) have made mega mistakes regarding house prices, also they seem to have been allowing sellers to dictate the prices to extreme.

I recently had three valuations on my place, they varied greatly to be honest. I told each of them that I wanted to put it on the market £20,000 over their top valuation and they agreed to do it should I want to sell. On a property that runs into the many hundreds of thousands OK, maybe they could get away with it, but not when the extra £20,000 I said I wanted to add was adding almost another 20% to their original highest valuation. Its bonkers.
