Remember the BBC crowing about how the FED had saved the situation? THey wheeled out every bull they could find to drone on about "Oooh the Fed have acted quickly and creatively to save the situation - if only the BOE could be as clever and cut interest rates"

IT HASN'T WORKED

THE PATIENT IS ENTERING A DIABETIC COMA - FEEDING HIM SHERBERT WILL NOT CURE HIM FOR LONGER THAN HALF AN HOUR.

Idiots.

Im not a stockbroker, or a trader, but to the casual eye, this is starting to look ridiculous. This volatility has to end in a crash.....we'll surely get to a stage where the "good news" from the FED is no longer regarded as being of any value as it continually proves itself to be toothless.

Well coke shares did well today on Wall Street - coca cola that is (about the only major share which went up!). Wonder why - is it to wash down the bankers whiskey as they drown their sorrows?

They have managed to keep the plates spinning since around 2001, they think they can keep them spinning forever.

Like I said on another thread, it reminds me of the famous footage of the Takoma suspension bridge flexing and twisting wildly in a strong wind - the oscillations got wilder and wilder until the bridge broke up.

If the see-sawing of share values continues to get wilder and wilder and the cycle shorter and shorter it will eventually get to a point where investors will be scared to go near it as it self destructs.

In the few books I've read about stocks and shares, increasing volatility is quoted as the classic omen that precedes a bear market.
