Amazingly, the 10pm BBC News decided to lead with the current turmoil in the financial markets with the Mills / McCartney nonsense only following up as second story. Maybe the government's main propaganda tool is finally waking up to the seriousness of what is happening in the markets.

They covered mortgages as a special feature and the concluding comment was that if mortgages don't become easily available again then "prices may have to fall back to a level where buyers can afford it" (or words to that effect) - never thought I'd see the day!! :D

Should be showing up on this site soon for anyone who missed it
